The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Here’s how you can be saved:
- Acknowledge your need for salvation: Recognize that everyone is a sinner and falls short of God’s glory (Romans 3:10 & 3:23). Understand that sin separates us from God and leads to spiritual death.
- Believe in Jesus Christ: Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on the cross for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead (John 3:16).
- Confess your faith: Declare your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10).
- Pray to receive Christ: Ask God to forgive your sins and come into your life. You can pray a simple prayer like this (Romans 10:13).
“Dear God, I know I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and that He died for my sins, Amen.”
Remember:
- Salvation is a free gift from God. You cannot earn it through good works or religious rituals (Ephesians 2:8-9).
- Once you are saved, you are eternally secure in Christ (John 10:28-29).
- The Holy Spirit will come to live within you and guide you in your new life (Ephesians 1:13-14).
- Repent of your sins: Turn away from your sins and make a conscious decision to follow Jesus (1 John 1:9).
- It’s important to find a Bible-believing church and get involved in fellowship with other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).
